January is our time to hit the ground running for those calendar year Form 5500s. Based on feedback, we have enhanced several areas of the Dashboard to add clarity and bring even more ease of use. These updates do not change the steps to move the 5500 reports along. We made sure to keep the basics and essential features securely in place.
The following changes are now in place:
- A warning will pop up when the ERISA Plan Year is changed. This alerts that changing the ERISA Plan Year will either change the due date and/or that a short plan year will be the result.
- The DocuSign notice email will have the ERISA Plan Year in the subject line.
- The language indicating that the Broker/Plan Sponsor will provide the As is updated to “I will provide the As”, with a note to clarify that Wrangle will not collect the As. This is only if you choose to provide the carrier schedules. Please know that Wrangle is always happy to take that task on for you.
- When you choose to export a pdf of the Plan Information, the benefits will indicate whether they are fully insured or self-insured.
- There will be a filter in the “sponsor search” area where you can search for inactive clients.
- Searching by a known and previously entered DBA in the Plan Sponsor name will now be possible.
An updated dashboard demo and cheat sheets will be available to you by the end of January.
On another note, many of you are in touch on a regular basis with your 5500 Consultant. We wanted to inform you that starting on December 27th, the 5500 Consultant title has changed to 5500 Representative. They remain the same great people providing the same great service. (The change is due to 2021 CAA Disclosure rulings and updated definitions for “consultants”).
